Blake Kamstra

Blake Kamstra was our first Angel.

As we tell the story, Oser-Roth & Friends Fest (then Oser-Roth Fest) was the summer party of the Oser’s and the Roth’s. During the planning of our summer party, we heard about Blake who was suffering from cancer. We thought it would be cool to just pass the hat around at the party to see if we could raise a few dollars so Blake could do something fun. A customer of Dan’s heard about Blake, and he reached into his wallet and pulled out a $100 bill. He handed it to Dan and said, “Give this to Blake.” Through this act of kindness, a movement of love was born.

The first Oser-Roth & Friends Fest raised $5,000 for Blake.

Blake fought his battle with cancer for many years. Blake lost his battle and gained his wings on February 25, 2019. Blake was 14 years old.

While short, Blake’s life served as an inspiration that started a movement of love. Blake will forever be in our hearts and our gratitude will endure eternally.

Hanna was 12 years old when she became an Angel, and lived in Cadiz, Ohio.

Hanna lost her battle with her condition and gained her wings on March 22, 2021

Shane has been saving his money for the past year and a half to buy a very sophisticated airplane flight simulator program for the computer. It is coming out in December. He is 4hoping he just needs to upgrade our existing computer to use this software but is trying to save enough to buy a new computer if he needs to. He has been mega-focused on this goal because he loves anything to do with space and flight and this software is going to be very exciting for him. The FAA uses a version of this software to train pilots. It is that amazing!

We are looking at applying the grant money towards a vinyl swing set or other special material that is conducive to Carson/EB -- wood swing sets present problems with splinters.

Tony is still trying to make up his mind on what to do with the money. He said he wanted to give half of it to Parent Project Muscular Dystrophy. ( We work on 2 fundraisers per year for the Parent Project.) We told him that is so very generous of him, and he could give a little bit to them, but this is money he should do something just for him. He thinks he might spend it on a trip..we're just not sure where ( there are so many places he's like to go.)
